Celine Dion cancels world tour

“I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again”

Singer Céline Dion has cancelled her entire world tour as she continues to battles the rare neurological disease, stiff-person syndrome.

The heartbroken singer confirmed her ‘Courage World Tour’ was cancelled this afternoon and gave an update on her health.

A statement was issued on the singer’s website following the difficult decision. Dion explained that it is best to cancel the tour now rather than postpone shows.

“It is with tremendous disappointment that we have to announce today the cancellation of the Courage World Tour.

“I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%. It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again.

“I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!”

Those who have purchased tickets for the 42 cancelled tour dates will be given a full refund.

Dion revealed she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in December 2022. Symptoms include stiff muscles in your arms, legs and torso.

Those diagnosed with the disorder will also have a greater sensitivity to noise, touch, and emotional distress, which can set off muscle spasms.

More serious symptoms include being unable to walk or move and frequent falls.

People with SPS will also struggle to leave their homes due to sensitivity to noise that will trigger spasms.
